frequently asked questions
who can use bydIT?
bydIT currently supports individuals, households and home workers. one-off requests are welcome.
can you help someone who isn’t confident with technology?
yes. basic questions are welcome, and support can be explained step by step. let us know if you prefer a slower pace or have accessibility needs.
how does remote support work?
we first check whether remote help suits the problem. any connection should be arranged with you, explained and authorised before access begins. never install a remote tool just because an unexpected caller tells you to.
can you visit my home?
onsite support is offered subject to location and availability. include your town or postcode so we can confirm arrangements and any travel cost.
what devices can you help with?
computers, laptops, phones, tablets, printers, home networks and connected home devices. share the make, model and problem so we can confirm whether it is something we can support.
will you need my passwords?
do not send passwords or security codes through any form, email or whatsapp. if sign-in is needed, enter your own credentials privately.
how quickly can you respond?
availability is confirmed individually. no guaranteed response time or 24-hour emergency cover is currently advertised.
do you offer ongoing support?
we can discuss ongoing needs and bydShield protection. coverage, charges and any recurring commitment must be agreed separately.
is my selected appointment automatically booked?
no. the form sends a preferred date and time for review. wait for confirmation before making arrangements.
what if the issue cannot be fixed?
we’ll discuss what was found and possible next steps. diagnostic charges and limits should be agreed before work; there is no blanket no-fix-no-fee promise.
