think you’ve been scammed?

pause, stop contact and take the next safe step. there is no judgement here.

money or bank details involved?

contact your bank immediately using its official app or the number on your card. don’t wait for a reply from bydIT and don’t use contact details supplied by the suspected scammer.

  1. stop the conversation

don’t send more money or approve more login requests. keep the messages, transaction references and times as evidence.

  2. if someone has remote access

disconnect the affected device from the internet to interrupt access. use a different trusted device to seek help. for a work device, contact your own it team before making changes.

  3. if you shared a password

from a trusted device, change it on that account and any others using the same password. review recovery details and enable multi-factor authentication where available.

  4. if you opened a link or installed something

use your security software to run a full scan. if you suspect remote control or cannot trust the device, seek help before signing into sensitive accounts on it.

  5. follow official recovery guidance

what to do after a phishing scam and official recovery resources.
